Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old was found with stab wounds in a park in Wolverhampton.

Emergency services were called to West Park after 13:00 GMT on Thursday.

The incident is believed to have happened nearby, at the junction of Park Road East and Devon Road, said West Midlands Police.

The boy was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition, officers said.

The force said it had increase its presence in the area to reassure the local community.

Det Insp Gurprit Bains, from Wolverhampton CID, said: "This incident happened at a busy junction and we are urging people who have may have seen what happened to come forward.

"We'd ask anyone who has any information, or any passing motorists who may have dashcam footage, to please contact us."
