A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman at a flat in Glasgow.
Alexander Brennan is alleged to have struck Brodie MacGregor repeatedly on her face, head and body with broken glass bottles at the property in Springburn on 26 August.
The 52-year-old, of Stenhousemuir, is also accused of inflicting further blunt force trauma to Mrs MacGregor, a 23-year-old mother, by means unknown.
He made no plea during an initial appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Mrs MacGregor was found dead at the flat on Elmvale Street at about 10:15 on the day of the alleged incident.
Court papers said the charge was aggravated by alleged abuse of Mr Brennan’s “partner or ex-partner”.
Mr Brennan’s case was committed for further examination and he was remanded in custody by Sheriff Daniel Kelly.
He is due to appear again within the next eight days.
