Snow and ice have brought disruption to Yorkshire for a second day, with dozens of schools closed and commuters faced with widespread travel delays.

Heavy snowfall over the weekend failed to thaw overnight in many parts of the region, but where it did flood warnings were issued in 14 areas across North, South and West Yorkshire.

Air passengers faced delays at Leeds Bradford Airport and many roads were closed earlier, including a section of the M62.

More than 100 schools closed or opted for a later start in the Bradford area, and 11 were reportedly closed in North Yorkshire. South Yorkshire also saw many schools close for the day.

Public transport was badly affected in South Yorkshire, with a number of services suspended, according to Travel South Yorkshire.

Parkway Drive in Sheffield was closed due to flooding and Gleadless Road was affected by large amounts of water on the road.

The A628 Woodhead Pass in South Yorkshire/Derbyshire was closed in both directions between the A616 for Flouch and the A57 for Hollingworth because of flooding.

In Morley, Leeds, a group of youths were seen pushing a bus which had become stuck in the snow.

The group stepped in and helped the stricken vehicle on Queen Street, Morley, on Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere, on Monday pupils made the most of the snowy day, taking their sledges to their local parks - including Alex, 12, who took his snowboard to Bingham Park in Sheffield.
