A 101-home development in a Berkshire town has been approved.

Most of the homes in Ascot will be in three-and-a-half storey apartment blocks on land south of High Street next to a fire station, along with 29 houses.

The project, by London Square Developments, will also include a piazza, shops, parkland and a community space and were scaled down from an initial plan for 132 homes.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead's Windsor and Ascot development management committee voted in favour of it going ahead on Thursday, with four votes in favour and two against.
