A dog had to be rescued by firefighters after getting stuck in an underground pipe.

It is thought Tango, an English pointer, became spooked by something while walking with his owner in Epping Forest on Saturday morning.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service crews used "chimney rods, positive reinforcement, and a carefully planned approach to encourage him out" of the pipe, which was running under a footpath.

He was returned safe and unharmed to his grateful owner.
