Police arrested a man on suspicion of possessing a firearm and making threats to kill

A 78-year-old man allegedly armed with a BB gun has been arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill a delivery driver.

Armed police detained the pensioner just after 17:30 BST on Saturday in Sheil Road in Kensington, Liverpool, Merseyside Police said.

The pensioner was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and making threats to kill, the force said.

He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries, a spokesman said.
