Tesco car park attack leaves man with head injury

A man suffered a serious head injury when he was attacked in a Tesco car park, police have said.

Avon and Somerset Police said the man was slapped in the face by a woman in the car park of Tesco on Danes Lane in Keynsham near Bristol, at about 13:25 GMT on 5 November.

The victim, in his 70s, was then punched in the jaw by a man, causing him to fall and sustain the head injury.

The force said he was treated in hospital but has since been discharged.

Police have appealed for help in identifying the man and woman, who were travelling in a white hatchback car, and have asked witnesses to come forward.

The woman is described as white, aged in her 30s, about 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build and has shoulder length dark hair.

She was wearing all black clothing, including a black cotton jacket at the time of the incident.

The man is described as white, aged in his 30s, of slim build and about 5ft 7ins tall.

He had short hair and was clean shaven, and was wearing a green T-shirt.
