Inflation rate in Guernsey drops to 5.1%

Inflation in Guernsey has slowed to 5.1% over the year ending in September 2024

The inflation rate in Guernsey has slowed to 5.1%, according to the latest figures.

RPI inflation in the year to September was 1.9% lower than the same period in 2023, the statistics showed.

The figures showed housing contributed to 1.8% of the annual change in the inflation rate.

Within the housing group, there were increases in the costs of mortgages, rents and house insurance.

The rate of inflation in Guernsey compared with the 1.7% inflation rate recorded in the UK, the lowest rate in three-and-a-half years.
