Police probe after two men assaulted in city fight

An investigation is under way after a man was stabbed and another injured in a fight in Leicester city centre.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to Granby Street at about 02:15 GMT on Saturday.

The man who was stabbed was taken to hospital and remains in a "serious but stable" condition.

A second man suffered head injuries with what was believed to be a glass or bottle, the force added.

A cordon remains on the scene, near to the Turkey Cafe, on Saturday afternoon as police investigations continue.

Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to contact the force.
