Man arrested after motorcyclist dies in collision

A man has been arrested following a traffic collision which killed a motorcyclist.
A red Yamaha motorcycle and black Ford Galaxy collided on the A33, at the junction of Island Road and Lindisfarne Way in Reading, at about 23:40 BST on Monday.
The rider of the motorbike, an 18-year-old man from Reading, was given emergency medical treatment, but died at the scene, Thames Valley Police said.
A 39-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, and driving a motor vehicle with a controlled drug above the specified limit. He remains in police custody.
The motorcyclist's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
Police Sgt Matt Cadmore, of the serious collision investigation unit, said "We are investigating this incident in which a motorcyclist has sadly died.
"Our thoughts are with his family at this extremely difficult time."
He asked for anyone who was driving in the area at the time who may have information, or has dash-cam footage, to come forward.
