Three cars damaged in east Belfast arson attack

Two cars were destroyed in the attack, police said

Police have said they are treating an incident in which three cars were damaged in east Belfast overnight as arson with intent to endanger life.

It was reported shortly after 03:35 BST that a white Mercedes and a silver Volkswagen car were set on fire at Dunraven Court.

The Fire Service attended the scene and dealt with the incident.

Both cars were completely destroyed and a red Citroen vehicle which was parked close by was also damaged.

Det Sgt Kitchen said windows were also damaged at a nearby home as a result of the heat.

Police said no one was injured.
