Plans for six bungalows on former plant nursery

Previous plans for the site have been turned down by council planners

Plans for six new bungalows on land at a busy junction have been put forward, despite the failure of previous proposals.
Beverley and Andrew Parkhill want to build on the former plant nursery site at Stony Cross, Herefordshire, at the junction of the B4220 and A4103 roads.
The scheme would be "accessible, small-scale housing that directly addresses local housing needs, particularly for the elderly and first-time buyers," according to the plans.
It will comprise a one-bedroom bungalow, four with two bedrooms and one with three.
The proposals sid the properties would be "dug low into the site" and would retain existing views of the Malvern Hills whilst being positioned with privacy in mind.
They also noted there was a village shop, doctors' surgery, pharmacy and bus stop nearby, making it a "sustainable location" for the development.
Plans for the site have not previously received a positive reception from council planners.
An application more than six years ago was refused, and dismissed at a planning appeal, with a later bid in 2022 then withdrawn following objections.
A revised bid in March 2023, proposing three single-storey timber-clad detached houses - larger than those currently proposed - with flat planted roofs, was also refused permission, then dismissed at appeal in December.
Neighbours have until 17 July to make comments on the current plans.
