Multiple complaints have been taken from residents of a smell affecting parts of the town

A council is investigating a "mysterious" and "unpleasant" smell in a Devon town after a number of complaints.
Mid Devon District Council has received multiple complaints from residents about a smell affecting parts of Tiverton, the cause of which is still to be determined.
To help the council with its investigation, people experiencing the smell have been asked to complete diary sheets until the end of the month.
The diary sheets should contain the type of smell and the impact it is having on the enjoyment of their property, the council has said.
Councillor David Wulff, cabinet member for quality of living, equalities and public health said: "We appreciate how unpleasant this is for those residents who are affected.
"Our officers are working hard to find the cause and a solution, but we need evidence to help with our investigations.
"We have been liaising with other agencies and hope to find a solution soon.
"In the meantime I would encourage residents to heed our advice and complete the diary sheet."
