A teenage e-scooter rider who died following a crash involving an ambulance has been named.

Kendal John Donaldson was critically injured in a collision on the A78, near the Pennyburn roundabout, at about 02:35 on Monday.

Mr Donaldson, 18, from Irvine, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident in the North Ayrshire town.

Police Scotland said inquires were ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact officers, external.

The Scottish Ambulance Service extended its condolences to Mr Donaldson's family and friends.
