CCTV appeal after dog killed by another dog in Dumfries

Police are appealing for information after a dog was killed by another dog in an attack in Dumfries.

Officers are keen to find CCTV or dash cam footage of the incident which happened in Laurieknowe at about 16:30 on Saturday.

They said the attacking dog was white and tan coloured. It has been traced and removed from its owner, who has been charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Police also want to hear from anyone, external who has experienced a similar incident in this area in the last few weeks.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Dog owners are reminded that their dog must be microchipped, and when in public, must be under control and should wear a collar with a tag containing a method of contacting the owner."
