A driver who was arrested after the death of two pedestrians in a crash has been released while police continue their investigation.

The pedestrians, two women aged 68 and 72, were hit by a blue Volkswagen Tiguan on Peppard Road in Caversham, Reading, shortly before 08:00 BST on Friday.

They died at the scene, near Cedarwood Crescent, Thames Valley Police said.

A 47-year-old woman from Reading, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released under investigation, the force added.
