Remembrance poppy cascade returns for second year
- Published
More than 3,100 knitted poppies are set to go on display for a second year in a row as part of Remembrance commemorations in a Warwickshire village.
A cascade of poppies, knitted and crocheted by villagers, will fall from the side of St Peter's Church Tower in Wellesbourne when installed.
The display will be unveiled at 10:00 BST on 26 October and remain in place until 16 November.
The decorations will also be on display around the village, as well as inside both St Peter's Church and at The Methodist Church on Bridge Street.
Organiser Kate Skinner said the installation had been dried out and some repairs had been made after it was taken down last year.
“Following on from the success of the cascade last year, everyone wanted to see the poppies again and so our Wednesday Crafternoon group has been working hard to bring it back to life," she explained.
"We are all very excited for everyone to come along and enjoy the amazing installations once more.”
