An event to help people who are struggling to afford Christmas presents will take place this weekend.

The Cleethorpes Toy Swap was set up by organisers of the Mums in Cleethorpes and Surrounding Areas Facebook group, Project Reloved and Dads & Diapers support group in the hope it will ease costs for families this festive period.

It will take place at the Cleethorpes Scout Hut on Albert Road from 12:00 until 14:00 GMT on Saturday.

Vic Nunn, from Project Reloved, said: "A toy swap is just perfect for Christmas time, helping any families out from any background."

Ms Nunn added: "We don't ask questions, it's just there for anyone who needs it."

Donations can also be given prior to the event at drop-off points at Haverstoe Park pavilion or the Uniform Hut.

They have already had some "beautiful donations", like toy kitchens and tool benches, Ms Nunn said.

New or unwanted second-hand toys are still being accepted.

The free event is open for anyone to attend and pick up something for their children for Christmas.
