An actor appearing in a festive comedy, co-written by Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland, said he enjoyed the experience.

Josiah Eloi, from Northampton, plays Little Barry Brennan, a member of a crime family in Bad Tidings - a Sky film featuring McCausland and comedian Lee Mack.

The plot sees the duo fending off attempts from criminals to rob a street in Stockport in Greater Manchester on Christmas Eve.

"[The film] is kind of like Home Alone but with two middle age blokes," said Eloi.

"It's set up in Stockport and we wreak absolute havoc. It's good fun."

The actor previously played one of Alan Carr's neighbours in the TV show Changing Ends on ITV1.

This production was filmed over three to four weeks and all shot at night.

Mr Eloi said: "At 04:00, I was sat next to Lee Mack and Chris McCausland drinking Diet Coke and talking loads of rubbish.

"It was a long, tiring filming process, but I think it's come out alright."

The actor is currently busy with another festive role, starring in a Cinderella pantomime in Swindon.

"It's been a right old Christmas time this year," he explained. "I feel very Christmassy this year."

Despite his packed schedule, Eloi planned to return to Northampton for Christmas Day to visit his mother.

"I'll be in Northampton for about 12 hours," he said.

Bad Tidings is available to watch from Sunday on Sky and Now TV.
