Pensioner hit by van seriously injured

A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital after being hit by a van.

West Mercia Police said it believed a White Mercedes Sprinter van hit the pensioner on Thursday at about 18:30 GMT on Carden Street.

The vehicle left the area before officers arrived, the force added, while the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are appealing for the driver to come forward. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is being encouraged to contact Sgt Liam Bennett by emailing sciusouth@westmercia.police.uk.
