Murder charge over stabbing of 23-year-old man

Detectives investigating a fatal assault in Northampton have charged a man with murder.

Clinton Obeng Oppong Antwi, 23, died in hospital on Wednesday, soon after emergency services were called to reports of a serious assault in Flaxwell Court, Standens Barn at 17:40 GMT.

Northamptonshire Police said a post-mortem examination found the preliminary cause of death was a stab wound.

Junior Emmanuel Uwadia, 25, of Northfield Way, Northampton, is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Two other men arrested in connection with the case, aged 22 and 23, have been released on bail pending further inquiries, police said.

They added they would still like to hear from any witnesses that have not yet come forward or anyone with information, CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage of the area at the time.
