Fresh tributes have been left near the scene where the body of a 10-year-old girl was discovered by police.
The child was found with injuries at an address on Robin Close in Rowley Regis, Sandwell, on Monday, West Midlands Police said.
Tributes have been laid beside a police cordon on the street and include unicorn toys, a Minnie Mouse doll, and a card that says "thinking of you, rest in peace".
A 33-year-old woman, believed to be known to the girl, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police said they were in the early stages of an investigation following the find at about 12:10 GMT on Monday.
Two ambulances and a paramedic officer also attended the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
“Upon arrival we found one patient. Unfortunately, it was clear that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased by ambulance staff at the scene,” a spokesperson said.
A forensic tent, a police car, and two police officers remain stationed on Robin Close.
