Police probing sexual assault appeal over rumours

Police have asked people not to share fake rumours circulating online about a body being found

Police investigating reports of a sexual assault are asking people not to share false rumours about a body being found.
Lincolnshire Police said an incident of inappropriate touching was reported to have happened at about 03:30 BST in the Liquorpond Street area of Boston.
The force said they were looking to identify a man who was on an e-bike and wearing dark clothing.
Rumours on social media claim a body was found in the area but police said it was not true and have asked for it not to be repeated, as misinformation "prevents officers from carrying out their work".
The force said there would be a heavy police presence in the area while they carry out their inquiries, which included speaking to residents and businesses and viewing CCTV.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident is urged to come forward.
