Murder probe launched after woman hit by car dies

A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a woman who was critically injured when she was hit by a car.

Donna Smith, 48, was taken to hospital after she was found injured on Hillcrest Drive in Bradford on Friday.

West Yorkshire Police said Ms Smith died in hospital on Monday.

Kiel Sanderson, 39, of Calderstone Avenue, was charged with a number of offences following the original incident, including causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and is due to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 30 September.

Mr Sanderson is also charged with causing grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
