The water main on Rawling Way, Hull, burst in April causing "significant damage" to the road

A major road in Hull is to be closed again to allow for permanent repairs to a damaged water main.

Rawling Way was shut in April 2023 after the water pipe burst which, at the time, "caused significant damage to the underlying concrete road structure below the tarmac surface layers," Yorkshire Water said.

The road will be closed again, between Walker Street and the A63 Clive Sullivan Way, from 28 October to allow the work to be carried out.

The work is expected to be completed in a week and a diversion route will be in place.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Water said: "We apologise for the inconvenience the closure of this section of Rawling Way will cause and would like to thank people for their patience.

"Our team and our partner, Morrison Water Services, will be working hard to reinstate the road as soon as possible."
