A Surrey teenager who suffered a life-altering reaction to treatment for tonsillitis has met the Duke of Sussex at an awards ceremony in London.
Declan, from Oxted, developed the rare but serious Stevens-Johnson Syndrome when he was six, which made him lose 96% of his skin, hair and nails, and permanently damaged his eyesight.
The 17-year-old was honoured at the Wellchild Awards, which celebrates children who have shown exceptional bravery in the face of serious illness, and their carers.
In a speech marking the 20th year of the awards in London, Prince Harry commended all the children at the event for their courage.
Declan was nominated by his mother Ashleigh, after he raised £25,000 for 10 charities through a football fundraiser and a climb of the O2 Arena.
As he picked up the Inspirational Young Person award, Ashleigh said: "Declan hasn't let the challenges he faces define him.
"Instead he's focused on giving back to those who've helped him along the way.
"His many generous acts of giving back and supporting others show just how selfless and determined he is."

WellChild chief executive Matt James said: "Young people like Declan embody what the awards are all about - strength, compassion and the will to help others thrive in the face of adversity.
"Right across the UK, more and more families are caring for children with serious and complex health needs.
"Behind each child's story is a network of extraordinary people who go above and beyond every single day."
Other children due to receive awards were nine-year-old Gwen from Horley, who was receiving the Inspirational Child Award and 13-year-old Grace from Sevenoaks, who was due to pick up the Special Recognition Award.
The charity event was one of several engagements for Prince Harry during a visit to the UK - his first since April.
