Two men have been arrested in connection with a rape and sexual assault on Brighton beach.
Police received a report of a teenage girl being raped and a woman being sexually assaulted in an area between Brighton Palace Pier and the West Pier at 06:00 BST on 8 September.
Two men, both aged 19, have been arrested on suspicion of rape, voyeurism and sexual assault by touching and bailed while further enquiries are undertaken, Sussex Police said.
An appeal has been launched to identify a third man in connection with the investigation.
The two victims, who are known to one another, are being supported by specialist officers.
Ch Insp Simon Marchant said officer patrols on Brighton seafront had been enhanced since the report.
"We are still looking to speak with a man as seen in the photograph in relation to this investigation, and ask anyone who recognises him or who has information to assist our enquiries to make a report to police,” he said.
Anyone who witnessed the incidents is urged to contact police.
