Major delays due to M60 police incident

Major rush hour delays have been caused by a police incident on the M60 in Greater Manchester.

The clockwise carriageway between junction 6 at Sale and junction 8 at Carrington was at a standstill from shortly after 07:00 BST.

National Highways was posting updates, external on the situation and has warned drivers to expect long hold-ups.

Greater Manchester Police said it was responding to concerns for somebody's welfare.

National Highways said: "Due to the nature of the incident, we are unable to provide an estimated re-opening time. There are delays of at least two hours in both directions, so please plan ahead."
