Two teenage boys have been arrested after a group of three boys were reportedly sprayed in the face with an unknown substance.

The incident occurred in Rouen Road, Norwich, on Wednesday, with all three victims taken to hospital for treatment.

Firefighters wearing hazmat suits attended the scene. The road has since been reopened.

The two suspects were arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remained in custody.

Norfolk Police said officers were called to the incident at 15:24 BST on Wednesday.

Emergency service vehicles were initially seen blocking the city centre road but it was reopened about an hour later.

The two teenage suspects were arrested later that evening, with a police spokesman describing the spray involved as an "unknown substance".

They have since been bailed until October 9 and 15 respectively.

Police are appealing for witnesses and for anyone with information to come forward.
