Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Highland crash

A man has been critically injured in a crash on the A890 in Wester Ross, which also left two others in hospital.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle collision near Auchtertyre at about 15:45 on Sunday.
A 33-year-old man who was driving a black Range Rover was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of a blue Volkswagen Tiguan - a 78-year-old man - was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance, while his 73-year-old passenger was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.
Police said the Tiguan driver was in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed for almost eight hours, before re-opening shortly before midnight.
Police have appealed for witnesses and have asked anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch, external.
