A man who was arrested after the discovery of a body in a flat in Leicester has been released on bail, police have said.

Leicestershire Police said the 46-year-old was detained after a man's body was found at a property in Foxon Street, off Braunstone Gate, shortly before 19:15 BST on Monday.

The force has declined to say what offence he was suspected of committing but said he had been released pending further inquiries.

Police said a post-mortem examination on Tuesday had proved inconclusive and further tests would be carried out to determine the cause of death.

The scene was cordoned off while investigations were carried out on Tuesday but the area has reopened, police added.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information about the death to contact them.
