Jersey Employment Trust (JET) has renewed its partnership with the island's National Trust, helping to maintain recently planted hedges in St Martin.

The National Trust for Jersey Hedge Fund started in the winter of 2019/2020 and, to date, just under 70,000 native whips have been planted, including more than 1,000 trees.

Conrad Evans, Hedge Fund project coordinator, said he was "delighted to give an opportunity to the team from JET to learn some new skills and play a vital role in the care of this major community project".

JET was set up in 2002 with the aim of making employment and vocational training more accessible to people with disabilities.

The planting project was initiated from the findings of a research report completed by the Environment Department in 2018.
