Police seize cannabis plants worth over £500,000

A cannabis cultivation was discovered in a property in Ibrox

Police have discovered an extensive cannabis cultivation with an estimated street value of up to £523,000 in Glasgow.

Officers searched a property on Broomloan Road in the Ibrox area of the city at about 15:15 on Monday.

They recovered a "significant" quantity of the Class B drugs and the force is now carrying out inquiries to find those responsible for cultivating them.

Det Sgt Jon Atkin said: "This is a significant recovery and highlights our efforts to disrupt the trade in illegal drugs across Scotland.

"It also underscores our commitment to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious and Organised Crime Strategy."
