"I took this photo of Fisherrow Harbour, East Lothian while watching this beautiful sunrise," said Steph Virot. "Everything was so still."

This double rainbow appeared while Neil Guthrie was highland cow-spotting at the Glencoe Visitor Centre.

"This echinops flower was absolutely buzzing with bumblebees, carder bees and marmalade hoverflies," said Hazel Thomson. "An absolute delight to see so many of them together."

"Loved this colorful creel at North Berwick harbour on a recent visit there," said Jane Reith. "Full of rainbow brilliance to battle the dreich weather."

Ciaran Wilson from Edinburgh took this picture while on a walk in the Pentlands during a day of blue skies and autumnal showers.

Victor Tregubov spotted a flock of sheep on a hill near Perth.

Is that New York? No it's a rare sunny Glasgow - David Michael snapped this view of the Portland Suspension Bridge on a sunny day.

Rob Barrie snapped the harvest in full swing at Rumbleton Farm, Greenlaw in the Scottish Borders with combines in various fields trying to get the crop in dry.

"I liked this clever Loganosaurus Rex made from willow at Logan Botanic Garden," said Wendy Sutherland. "This beautiful place had a Jurassic Park feel about it."

Mary Turner captured this gateway to a deserted beach at Sanaigmore, Isle of Islay with the Paps of Jura in the distance.

"The swan wanted a quack word with me as I fed them at Port Buchan," said Kelly Rooney from Broxburn.

Bob Black had some early morning reflections at the Musselburgh lagoons.

"The sight of all these chimneys in Cullen beside the harbour must have been a chimney sweep's dream back in the day," said Bruce Clark.

Red alert: "I stopped for a break from my bike ride in Fife when I saw this squirrel at Morton Lochs," said Eric Niven. "He looked like a happy wee soul."

"Beautiful day in Portree on the Isle of Skye," said Frank Goldstein. "Typical tourist photo but classic shot."

Andrew MacLeod took this is a picture of one of the wild goats on the Isle of Rum. He said: "I think it’s posing for the picture."

"I loved the spreading gnarled branches on this old tree in Figgate Park, Edinburgh," said Win Baker. "Hopefully the makeshift rope swing is attached to a strong branch!"

Martin Doig took this picture looking north from Kinnordy on the popular Ride the North event, with about 1,500 cyclists covering between 70 and 100 miles around Angus.

A beautiful cabbage white butterfly landed on one of the last summer thistles in East Wemyss. Aine Bidgood said: "It was so delicate and a wonderful addition to our walk."

"It may not be autumn, but it felt like it on a walk through the local nature reserve in the week," said Jim Fanning. "Spiders out in force".

Brian Watson snapped a summery view of Stonehaven during the busy holiday season.
