Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has revealed how the musician Morrissey told her he had sent in a script for the long-running show.

She said he also asked her for a tour of the famous cobbles after they bumped into each other in a shop and he described himself as a "massive fan".

However, the actress told BBC Radio Manchester it was "so annoying" her colleagues had finished their shifts before his visit as he was "desperate to meet people" from the soap.

The 62-year-old actress recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise funds for breast cancer research to mark 16 years since her diagnosis - at the same time her on-screen character Sally Webster had been dealing with the illness.
