The family of a motorcyclist who died after a crash have said he left a hole that will be "impossible to fill".

Ben Waplington, from Stoke-on-Trent, was seriously hurt in the crash involving two motorbikes and a car on the A51 Stone Road near Baldwin's Gate, Staffordshire, at about 19:00 BST on 9 May.

The 27-year-old, who was riding one of the bikes, was taken to hospital by ambulance but died from his injuries on Tuesday.

In a tribute to Mr Waplington, his family said he was a "dearly loved" fiance, son, brother and grandson.

"He lived life to the fullest and enriched the lives of everyone he touched," they said.

"He will be forever in our hearts and has left a hole that will be impossible to fill."

Mr Waplington had been riding a silver Triumph motorbike at the time of the crash, which also involved a dark grey Mercedes estate car and a red BMW motorbike.

Staffordshire Police has urged anyone who was travelling in the area at the time, or who might have dashcam footage, to get in touch.
