An association which takes part in Jersey's Battle of the Flowers is celebrating 25 years since it was founded.

The Battle is a celebration of "floral creativity and community spirit" which has been taking place for more than a century.

St Saviour's Battle of Flowers Association said its celebration later was testament to the "pride and passion" the community has for the island.

It said it had organised a party to say thank you to everyone who had contributed to the association.

'Share some memories'

"It is our 25th anniversary and we have had one of our most successful years with awards this year," it said.

"We are throwing a party to say thanks to everyone who has contributed in any way to the association over the years.

"We very much hope that it will be a chance for past and present members to get together and share some memories of their time with the association and past floats."

The party, to include food, dancing and a raffle, is due to take place from 19:00 BST at The Boundary by Grainville School.

Those wishing to attend should email stsavboff@gmail.com to reserve a place.
