Police found weapons and drugs inside a hidden room concealed by a fake fireplace during a raid.

West Yorkshire Police said officers made the discovery at a house on Halifax Road in Batley on Sunday.

They recovered a samurai sword, knives and a cannabis farm "containing a number of plants", a force spokesperson added.

No arrests have yet been made, but the spokesperson said an investigation to find those responsible was ongoing.

The property when empty when it was raided early on Sunday morning as part of an operation to combat drug supply in Kirklees.

Upon entrance officers noticed a wall-mounted fireplace was fake and concealed the entrance to the hidden room.
