The Scillonian Ferry will not run for the rest of Friday due to poor weather conditions, Isles of Scilly Travel has said.

All passengers have been transferred to sailings on Saturday and will not need a new ticket to check-in, it said.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Due to the rapid deterioration in weather, and for the safety of our passengers and crew, today's sailing has been cancelled."

They added that inter-island boating and water sports may remain unaffected.

BBC Weather has forecast wind gusting up to 50mph for the Isles of Scilly along with light rain showers that are due to turn into drizzle later in the afternoon.
