Manslaughter charge three years after man's death

A man has been charged with manslaughter three years after the death of a 78-year-old.
Police said the charge related to an incident which happened in Long Street, Wigston in Leicestershire, on 15 October 2022.
Christopher Pearson died 10 days later in hospital, Leicestershire Police added.
Darren Bakewell, 61, of Bentinghouse Gardens in Leicester, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, and is set to appear at Leicester Crown Court on 22 September.
