Five road closures for 2025 Brighton Half Marathon

The longest closure will be on Grand Avenue to West Street, which will be shut between 03:00 and 14:00 GMT on Sunday

There will be five main road closures for the 35th Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday.
More than 10,000 runners are expected to take on the 13.1-mile seafront course, which will start and finish at Hove Lawns on Kingsway as Madeira Terrace is awaiting a major restoration.
The closures of Kingsway-Wharf Road to Grand Avenue, Grand Avenue to West Street and Madeira Drive - West Street to Lower Rock Gardens - and St James Street will all conclude at 14:00 GMT.
St James Street to Union Road and Lower Rock Gardens to Roedean Way will be subject to shorter closures.
Road closures
Kingsway-Wharf Road to Grand Avenue: 06:30 to 14:00 (westbound only)
Grand Avenue to West Street: 03:00 to 14:00 (east and westbound)
Madeira Drive - West Street to Lower Rock Gardens - and St James Street: 07:00 to 14:00
St James Street to Union Road: 08:00 to 12:15
Lower Rock Gardens to Roedean Way: 08:00 to 12:30
Grand Junction Road, which has been closed amid warnings that the Royal Albion Hotel was at risk of "catastrophic collapse", will be ready for the event.
The half marathon is the single biggest annual fundraiser for The Sussex Beacon, which provides specialist support and care for people living with HIV.
