A nine-hole mini golf course is set to be built on the site of a former town centre nightclub.

The Mr Mulligans mini golf course could open in the former TGI Fridays and Slice nightclub site in North Street, Guildford, as early as December, licensing documents suggest.

Guildford Borough Council approved Adventure Leisure Limited’s plans to join two empty units in Dolphin House, with the business also expected to serve food and drinks.

Other games will be available to customers before and after their golf rounds and up to eight screens will be added to show sports, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

No external alterations are proposed and although planning permission is approved, the venue’s licensing applications are yet to go through.

Alcoholic drinks are proposed to be served until 23:00, but Adventure Leisure Limited has also applied to sell alcohol between 23:00 and 01:30 every day, and until 05:00 on New Year’s Day.

Planning documents say the joint-venue has a capacity of 400, but about 60% of customers are expected to book timed slots in advance.

“Because of this staggered entry and exit times there is considerably less impact on the nearby residential uses,” the planning statement said.

The course will be open to all from 10:00 until 20:00. Between 20:00 and midnight only over-18s will be allowed in the site.
