Baby found unresponsive at home dies in hospital

A three-month-old baby boy who was rushed to hospital after being found unresponsive at a home has died.

The child was said to be in a critical condition with several injuries when they were discovered at the house in Wirral by Merseyside Police at about midday on Sunday.

A man and a woman aged 36 and 33 were arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm and wounding with intent.

The pair have both appeared before magistrates and are due to go before Liverpool Crown Court on 23 December.

A spokesman for the force said the boy had received treatment for his injuries but had died on Friday afternoon.
