Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash

A narrow country road curves gently to the left, bordered by tall, neatly trimmed hedges on both sides. The road surface is grey asphalt with a faint centre line. Green grass runs along the base of the hedges, and the landscape beyond appears flat and open. The sky is overcast with thick grey clouds.Image source, Google

A man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash between three vehicles in North Yorkshire.

The motorcyclist in his 60s was riding near Northallerton on Friday when he collided with a van and a Land Rover at about 13:15 BST, North Yorkshire Police said.

Dolly Lane in Yafforth was closed until about 20:30 after the crash near Northallerton Equestrian Centre.

The force said the red Suzuki SV1000 motorcycle and the silver Ford Transit van were travelling away from Yafforth while the silver Land Rover Discovery was travelling in the opposite direction.

Police urged any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to get in touch.
