A man in his 20s has died after his car left the road and collided with a tree.

Suffolk Constabulary was called to a collision involving a single vehicle at 00:25 GMT on the A14 between junctions 45 and 44 westbound, at Rougham, Bury St Edmunds.

The passenger of the Lotus Emira was taken to hospital after sustaining injuries which were not believed to be life threatening.

The road was reopened at 10:20, about 10 hours after police were called.

Emergency services, including fire and ambulance crews were at the scene of the crash.

Police are appealing for any witnesses of the collision or motorists who were driving in the area with dashcam footage.
