Car owner suffers 'slight burns' after fire

Axminister Fire Station said the cause of the fire was deemed as accidental

Fire crews were called to tackle a car that was "well alight" in a field in Devon on Friday.

Axminster Fire Station said crews attended the car fire in Dalwood near Axminster at about 13:26 BST, which also "spread to an area of grass".

The fire service said the owner of the vehicle suffered "slight burns to his hands" however did not require first aid.

On Facebook, the service said: "Crews successfully managed to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading further through the field. The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental."
