A large search mission has been launched to find a man who failed to return from his swim, emergency crews confirmed.
A HM Coastguard spokesperson said the alarm was raised after the swimmer was reported missing at about 14:25 BST. He was swimming between Sandymouth and Northcott Mouth, in Cornwall.
Coastguard teams from Boscastle, Bude, and Hartland, as well as a helicopter, have been drafted in to assist in the search.
The RNLI's inshore lifeboat and an all-weather lifeboat from Padstow have also joined the rescue.
