Thousands have flocked to visit an annual county show which celebrates the area's heritage, culture and industry.

The first day of the Suffolk Show began earlier at Trinity Park in Ipswich.

Visitors were able to enjoy musical performances, show jumping, livestock displays as well as several competitive animal classes.

The show's organisers said the event "showcases the best of Suffolk's agriculture, food exhibitors [and] crafts."

The Suffolk Show has been championing the county's food, farming and agricultural heritage since 1831.

It will continue on Thursday in Trinity Park, which has been home to the event since 1960.

Over the next few days the show will host the Shetland Pony Grand National final, a parade of hounds, a vintage tractor display and a flower show.

Several musical performances from Ipswich School of Dance, Wattisham Military Wives Choir and other artists are planned.

Gates will open at 07:00 BST on both days of the event, with last entry today at 19:00 and 17:30 on Thursday.
