Man charged with attempted murder and knife offences

A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was attacked in Cumbria.
Police were called to William Morris Avenue in Cleator Moor, near Whitehaven, on Saturday.
The injured man was taken to Cumberland Infirmary for treatment, although his injuries are not life-threatening, Cumbria Police said.
The 32-year-old man who was arrested was also charged with assault, two counts of possessing a knife in a public place, and assaulting an emergency worker.
He appeared at North and West Cumbria Magistrates' Court on Monday, police said, where he was remanded in custody.
