Citizens Advice Guernsey lost nearly £93,000 in 2023, an increase on the loss of more than £63,000 in 2022, according to its annual report.

"It is disappointing to report this level of losses," said treasurer Maggie Thompson.

Citizens Advice Guernsey saw a rise in its annual grant from the Committee for Employment and Social Security to £100,000 for 2024 and a one-off additional grant of £10,000 for 2023.

Staff and volunteers "worked tirelessly" to contribute £41,524, said Ms Thompson.

The losses came amid an increase in costs, said Ms Thompson.

"However, we are confident that the community of Guernsey will support Citizens Advice Guernsey and enable it to continue to offer the quality service it is renowned for," she said.

The team dealt with just under 3,500 clients during 2023 with nearly 10,850 issues.
